What is Detailing? It has come to my attention that some people do not fully understand what detailing is. A common misconception is that Detailing is a basic wash and vacuum and maybe a wax applied too. This is only partly true. The level of cleaning a Detailer performs far exceeds a simple wash, wax and vacuum. Therefore, the definition of detailing has to reflect this.
I and many other professional detailers define detailing as a thorough cleaning and reconditioning of interior and exterior surfaces of your vehicle through a meticulous step-by-step process in order to restore your vehicles beauty and protect your investment.

One of the most important aspects of Detailing is protection. It is crucial to protect your car’s paint with a wax, sealant or coating to keep it looking good for a long time. Wax and or sealant should be applied at least twice a year while ceramic coatings can last years. There are products available to protect not only your car’s paint but also other surfaces such as plastic, metal/chrome, fabric and leather. A detailer can and should offer these as well.
Detailing also consists of using high quality products that work well and are safe for the user, vehicle and environment. A professional detailer will research and test products to determine which ones work best for them and their customers.
